Privacy
Privacy Policy.
We build DebateBoost for students and families, so privacy, clear choices, and age-appropriate account handling matter.
Effective date: June 26, 2026. This policy explains how DebateBoost collects, uses, shares, and protects information when students, parents, guardians, coaches, and visitors use our website and product.
Information we collect
- Account information, such as email address, username or nickname, password credentials, age-related signup information, country, and account status.
- Student profile information, such as debate experience, practice preferences, and progress information needed to personalize coaching.
- Practice content, such as speech recordings, transcripts, submitted text, debate topics, feedback, drills, scores, and progress history.
- Parent or guardian information when required for child account approval.
- Payment and billing information handled through our payment provider when paid checkout is available.
- Technical information, such as device, browser, approximate location, cookies, logs, and product usage events.
How we use information
- To provide debate practice, feedback, drills, progress tracking, and account support.
- To personalize the product for the student's age, experience, country, and practice history.
- To send account messages, verification emails, parent approval emails, welcome emails, and service updates.
- To operate pricing, billing, subscriptions, refunds, and fraud-prevention workflows.
- To improve safety, reliability, product quality, and learning outcomes.
- To meet legal, tax, payment, security, and compliance obligations.
Students and children
DebateBoost is designed for middle and high school students. When a student is under 13, we require parent or guardian approval before the child can use the product. If approval is not completed within the required window, the account may be blocked or deactivated.
Parents or guardians may contact us at [email protected] to ask about their child's account, request access to information, request correction, or request deletion where required by law.
How we share information
- We do not sell student personal information.
- We share information with service providers that help us run DebateBoost, such as hosting, database, email, analytics, AI, audio processing, storage, payment, security, and customer-support providers.
- We may share information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to prevent abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
- We may share account or progress information with a parent, guardian, or coach when the account setup or product feature supports that relationship.
AI and practice content
DebateBoost uses AI systems to provide coaching feedback, generate practice drills, summarize progress, and support student learning. Practice content may be processed by AI and infrastructure providers so the product can return feedback and improve reliability.
Students should not submit sensitive personal information in speeches, drills, or chat messages. DebateBoost is for debate practice, not for medical, legal, financial, or emergency advice.
Cookies and approximate location
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep users signed in, save session preferences, understand product usage, and support region-based pricing. We may use approximate country detection, such as a hosting or network header, to show relevant pricing and content.
Data retention and security
We keep information as long as needed to provide the product, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, improve safety, or meet legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.
